The 14th Annual Orillia and Area International Women’s Day Art Show will be held at
ZEPHYR GALLERY, 11 Peter Street South, Orillia
The theme for this year’s show is “THE JOURNEY”
• All participants must be female and of high school age or older.
• Only one entry per artist may be submitted.
• This is a NON-JURIED show; however, as space is limited, the women’s show committee may establish a maximum number of entries accepted.
• Artwork must relate to the theme of the show; however, the theme is open to individual interpretation. The artist may choose whether or not their piece is for sale.
• Each artist is to submit a story of 75 words or less to accompany their work. The story offers the viewer additional information which will enrich interpretation of the show’s theme. It may take the form of prose or poetry but please follow the 75 words or less guideline.
• We welcome use of any media. Please let us know if your work will require a stand, pedestal, or special hanging arrangements. Artwork should be no larger than 5 square feet framed. Please contact us if your entry will exceed these dimensions. Acceptance will depend upon space available.

Sunday, February 28, Noon to 4 p.m. at Zephyr Gallery
The show will be hung on Monday, March 1st so we can’t receive artwork after Sunday. Please contact us if you can’t make that date and need to deliver it beforehand. We regret that we cannot receive entries by parcel post.
Public Opening: Friday March 5, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Pickup of work: Sunday March 27, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Please do not pick up work before this date as many people come in on
the last day to view the show.
Forum – Thursday, March 18th 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
An entry form is attached. In it you will find room for all the information including your story. This must be returned by February 5, 2010.
The most efficient way for submission would be for you to copy and paste the third page of this registration form into an email, fill in the blanks and email it to womenshowzephyr@hotmail.com or drop it off at Zephyr Gallery marked to the attention of Teresa Baker.
Zephyr’s hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.
There is an entry fee of $20.00 (cash only) to cover expenses. This fee is to be paid when your actual artwork is dropped off at Zephyr on Sunday, March February 28. At this time you will be able to proofread your story.
We will also ask you to sign up to volunteer for gallery sitting during the show. Volunteering for one day, or even half a day, ensures that the show is open to the public for as many hours and days as possible.

A commission of 20% of work sold will go to Greenhaven Shelter for Women.
